ERM is co-sponsoring the International Conference on Health, Safety & Environment in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production to be held in Perth, Australia in September.
Running from 11-13 September the 2012 International Conference on HSE’s theme this year is “Protecting People and the Environment – Evolving Challenges.” It is the first time this event will be held in Australia and is being co-organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) with Chevron Corporation as the Host Organization for the event.
Our involvement includes the participation of Trey Shaffer, Fred Jones and Steve Laking as co-chairperson across three different sessions in reference to Social Responsibility Track, Integration of HSE into Project Planning, and Environmental Monitoring & Modeling. ERM’s participation will additionally feature seven paper presentations and two panel session speaking opportunities across the three day event covering topics such as Managing Community Expectations, UCR, Non-Technical Risks, HSE and Risk Assessment.
Melody Meyer, President Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production Company, is the conference’s Executive Chairperson, while Tom Gouldie, Operations Integrity Engineer, Drilling & Petroleum Engineering, Santos Ltd., and Tom Norris, Chevron Regional HSE Manager, Chevron Upstream and Gas, are the Program Committee Co-Chairmen.
The event will feature an extensive and comprehensive technical program covering the key topics of health, safety, environment, social responsibility and HSE management, featuring components including plenary, panel, technical and knowledge sharing sessions, which will strike an appropriate balance between emerging industry issues, best practices, and lessons learned. A technical exhibition will be held in conjunction with the conference, allowing professionals to see the latest innovative technologies and processes being utilized by the industry.
