ERM, the leading global sustainability consultancy, is pleased to announce that Ian Bailey is joining the company to head up its highly successful UK & Ireland division. He will take up the position of Managing Partner for the UK & Ireland and become a member of ERM’s global Senior Leadership Team before the end of March. ERM is currently experiencing strong growth throughout the world, and Ian Bailey joins its UK & Ireland division as it looks set to deliver another strong year of growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2012.
With over 25 years’ experience, Ian Bailey is a recognized leader in the sustainability field, and his appointment further strengthens ERM’s leading market position. In addition to his impressive credentials in the environmental and sustainability fields, he has extensive management experience which includes leading acquisitions and growth across Europe.
The appointment follows the promotion of Keryn James to the position of Regional CEO for ERM’s Asia Pacific business; Keryn held the post of Managing Director of ERM’s UK & Ireland for three years and is returning to her home in Perth, Australia to take up her new role.
ERM Chief Executive John Alexander commented: "Ian joins ERM at an exciting time; we are seeing strong growth in demand for our services as clients increasingly value the outcomes that we deliver for them; our revenues have increased by more than 15% organically over the last 12 months or so. This is in response to the increasingly complex challenges that our clients face.
"Population growth, demand for energy and other resources, the emergence of developing economies and globalization are creating new opportunities for clients. At the same time, there is increasing recognition that we live on a fragile planet with real sustainability challenges. This is resulting in further regulation and enforcement globally and increasing expectations with respect to the environmental, health, safety (EHS) and socio-economic and community standards that apply to companies and governments alike. Ian Bailey is a leading figure in the EHS market and I am delighted to welcome him back to ERM.’
Ian Bailey said: "Clients in the EHS arena have a need for real depth and breadth of experience to respond to increasingly complex sustainability challenges. I believe ERM to be ideally positioned to meet those challenges. I am looking forward to joining the leadership team at ERM and to contributing to our ability to deliver for clients as the company goes from strength to strength."
