ERM, the world's largest pure play consultancy, has announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Renewable Sweden to offer joint best in class offshore wind services to support Sweden’s energy transition.
Renewable Sweden specializes in delivering complex renewable energy projects in the Nordics, covering onshore and offshore wind energy, solar and hydrogen. Its services include market analysis, permitting, stakeholder management and lobbying.
Combined with ERM's extensive end-to-end expertise in renewable energy services, the partnership is designed to help Sweden accelerate its energy transition in line with its goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2045.
Sweden is targeting 100% renewable electricity generation by 2040, and according to ERM’s Global Renewable Infrastructure Projects database it is estimated that its renewables capacity will double to 30.4 GW by 2030.
Ross McNally, Associate Partner for EMEA at ERM said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Renewable Sweden in a rapidly expanding market for offshore wind and other renewables. Our partnership will be based on local knowledge, relationships and project experience from Renewable Sweden matched with ERM’s offshore wind expertise, experience and delivery capabilities.”
Jeanette Lindeblad, Founder & CEO at Renewable Sweden, said: “We look forward to working together to help bring ERM’s renewables expertise and services to the Swedish market. To meet the climate threat and transition to a sustainable energy system, both in Sweden and abroad, bilateral collaborations are needed to drive development forward, and we are proud to be part of one.”
