The foundation of ERM's consulting excellence is our people, and the human resources (HR) function supports the integration, development and success of our employees around the world. Internationally, teams support many operational functions including recruitment and mobility, compensation and benefits, and performance management.
Global learning and development are key components of the HR function, which includes the ERM Academy, the Partner-in-training Program, and other learning and development initiatives. As an HR professional responsible for the Middle East, I took advantage of ERM's growth opportunities firsthand in 2015 when I obtained my HR qualification. With a bachelor's degree in chemistry, a post-graduate degree in English literature, and more than 15 years' experience in HR, the program was a great step in my career progression and diversification of my skillsets.
ERM's work culture allows me to balance my personal life and work in a way that supported my return to further studies. Flexibility in work scheduling and the ability to work from home periodically has also allowed me to avoid compromising family commitments, especially to my children. This is something that is not yet commonplace in business in the Middle East and differentiates us from other companies.
