In May 2023, the Parliament of Canada passed the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (the Modern Slavery Act). This introduces annual mandatory public reporting for many companies operating in Canada on how they are addressing the risks of child and forced labour in their business and supply chains, with financial penalties for non-compliance.
