Roundtable on Climate Adaptation: Taking responsiblity along a disrupted supply chain

Extreme weather events are increasingly disrupting logistics along global supply routes. The previously reliable delivery times, upon which just-in-time production was based, are dwindling. A rethink in strategic procurement processes is increasingly taking climate change along established trade routes into account. At the same time global supply chains help us in sharing leading adaptation practices, for example to identify measures tackling heat implications on Health & Safety of workforces.

The conference comes at a critical time when businesses are increasingly facing the direct impacts of climate change, including extreme heat, flooding, water stress, supply chain disruptions, and growing pressure from investors, regulators, and stakeholders to strengthen resilience.

Today, climate adaptation has become a strategic business priority. Companies are recognizing that resilience is no longer simply a sustainability topic but a fundamental driver of operational continuity, long-term asset value, investment attractiveness, and competitive advantage. As physical climate risks increase across industries, organizations need practical approaches to assess vulnerabilities, develop adaptation strategies, and invest in solutions that enhance resilience and future-proof their operations.

By combining deep technical expertise with strategic business insight, ERM helps companies understand how climate change may affect their assets, operations, supply chains, and investments, while identifying practical actions that create long-term value. We work with clients to develop robust climate adaptation strategies, enhance business resilience, strengthen stakeholder confidence, and turn sustainability challenges into opportunities for growth, innovation, and competitive differentiation.

ERM will explore and co-create how climate adaptation professionals can communicate emerging climate risks more effectively.

Climate change is no longer a future scenario - it is a certainty. The question is no longer whether organizations will experience climate impacts, but whether they can adapt quickly enough.
