Climate change is now recognized as a systemic risk to the global economy, with material GDP implications to the world’s largest economies in an unabated emissions scenario. Capital flows are already moving strongly towards renewable energy, as the technologies become more commercially viable and energy policy encourages investment.
Offshore wind will play a critical role in the energy transition and will be deployed at scale throughout Asia. The new generation of wind farms will be developed in deeper waters, further from the shoreline and will adopt new technologies, increasing development complexity. Concerns surrounding potential ecological, biodiversity, physical & social regulatory and reputational risks must be addressed to meet the requirements of key stakeholders, including national regulators, financial institutions and communities.
This webinar will provide an introductory market update on latest offshore wind developments in Asia Pacific and provide insights as to how environmental and social risks can be identified and mitigated during the project development process.
This webinar is by invitation only. If you are interested in registering, please contact Sakiko Niimi at sakiko.niimi@erm.com by Wednesday, 27th May, 2020.
