ERM at CPHI Milan 2026
ERM is proud to be a sponsor of CPHI Milan 2026, one of the world's largest gatherings for the pharmaceutical industry, bringing together thousands of leaders from across the global pharma value chain. The event is a premier forum for advancing innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth throughout the industry.
This year, sustainability takes center stage with the launch of the CPHI Sustainability Summit, providing an important platform for industry leaders to explore practical strategies for embedding sustainability into business operations, supply chains, products, and investment decisions.
As pharmaceutical organizations face increasing pressure to decarbonize operations, address Scope 3 emissions, strengthen supply chain resilience and climate change resilience, and meet evolving regulatory expectations, ERM is helping companies turn sustainability ambitions into measurable business outcomes.
ERM speaking sessions at CPHI Milan 2026
At CPHI, ERM has two speaking sessions, taking place on Wednesday 7 October 2026 in the Sustainability Spotlight Theatre at Fiera Milano.
The countdown to 2027 has begun: how will you plan for the hottest year ever?
When: Wednesday 7 October 2026, 14:05–14:30 CET
Where: Sustainability Spotlight Theatre, Fiera Milano, Milan, Italy
ERM speaker: James Hubbard, Partner, Climate Resilience Lead
The summer of 2026 has tested resilience to the limit. Asset failures due to heatwaves. Energy supplies disrupted and rationed. Logistics unable to operate on Europe’s main rivers. Cold chains and single-source API supply under sustained strain. Emerging data shows that the resulting operational impact has hit companies’ financial performance across the sector. But the best available data shows this year was a dry run for 2027’s all-time highs. Many systems and processes that just stayed working this year, next year likely won’t. No one will want to be caught unprepared, least of all in an industry where a disrupted batch is a disrupted patient supply. So companies must use the next 9 months to plan and deliver. Using real examples and practical solutions, the session will explain how companies will get there: how to find your critical failure points, how to sequence the fixes that pay back twice, and how to make the case to your board before the temperature does it for you.
Scope 3: how leading pharma organisations are moving from strategy to action to decarbonise their supply chains — clean heat. In collaboration with AstraZeneca and Secaro.
When: Wednesday 7 October 2026, 15:05–15:30 CET
Where: Sustainability Spotlight Theatre, Fiera Milano, Milan, Italy
ERM speaker: Jon Hughes, Partner, Sustainable Products & Supply Chain
Achieving meaningful decarbonization across pharmaceutical supply chains requires more than ambition: it demands clear roadmaps, cross-functional alignment. and the ability to translate strategy into measurable action.
In this session Astra Zeneca, Secaro and ERM will explore how leading pharma companies are moving from strategy to implementation using real-world insights on how Clean Heat as a decarbonization lever is delivering value, resilience and reduced risk across the pharma global supply chain.
How ERM helps pharmaceutical companies move from commitment to action
The pharmaceutical industry faces a distinctive challenge: delivering better health outcomes while reducing environmental impact across increasingly complex global supply chains. ERM works with leading pharmaceutical companies to:
- Accelerate decarbonization programmes across manufacturing and R&D operations
- Engage suppliers to reduce Scope 3 emissions across the value chain
- Strengthen climate resilience and physical and transition risk management
- Navigate evolving ESG and sustainability regulations, including CSRD and CSDDD reporting requirements
- Develop science-based sustainability and net-zero strategies
- Embed sustainability into commercial and operational decision-making
