ERM is proud to attending the AEF again this year!

The Africa Energy Forum is an essential event, welcoming over 6000 delegates to Cape Town to drive impactful discussions and solutions for Africa's energy future. This four-day event serves as a crucial platform, bringing together a diverse group of experts, top government officials, utilities, regulators, development finance institutions, commercial banks, power developers, technology providers, EPCs, and professional services from across the energy sector to discuss sustainability and decarbonization. A significant increase in energy investment in African countries is essential to achieve the region’s energy development and climate goals, requiring energy investment to more than double from today’s USD 90 billion by 2030, with nearly two-thirds of spending directed towards clean energy.

Africa's renewable energy landscape has seen significant growth, with countries like South Africa, Morocco, and Kenya leading the charge. Despite receiving less than 2% of global clean energy spending, investments have surged by over 80% in the past five years. By 2030, Africa aims to bring 300 gigawatts of renewables online, quadrupling its current capacity. This ambitious target is part of the African Union's commitment to decarbonization and expanding energy access, aiming to provide electricity to 300 million people. Renewable investment is crucial for ensuring energy access and security, driving economic growth and job creation, reducing carbon emissions, and fostering social and political stability.
