Chris Gimber is a Brisbane-based Partner with approximately 25 years of experience in mine closure and rehabilitation across a wide range of commodities and jurisdictions. His expertise spans all stages of the mining lifecycle, including feasibility studies, impact assessment, engineering, operations, decommissioning, rehabilitation and monitoring. Chris is recognized for his technical leadership in mine water management, soils and hydrogeochemistry and has advised both industry and government on mine closure best practice. He was a key technical contributor to Queensland's rehabilitation reforms and Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan (PRCP) framework.

Charissa is a Partner and a leader of ERM’s Mine Approvals and Closure Team, with experience covering environmental management, regulatory approvals/ permitting, planning, compliance, closure and rehabilitation. She has worked on a range of projects in various sectors across consulting and operational environments in Australia, South Africa and other jurisdictions. 

Charissa has been responsible for managing numerous mining related projects, seeing through many projects from concept to implementation and closure through consultative process.

Dr Tamie Weaver is an internationally recognized hydrogeologist and hydrogeochemist with more than 40 years’ experience in groundwater assessment and management for the mining and industrial sectors. 

She provides strategic technical leadership, expert review, and independent assurance for major mining projects across Australia and internationally, with particular expertise in mine closure, rehabilitation, tailings management, and long-term environmental performance. Tamie has developed and reviewed conceptual and numerical groundwater models and groundwater and surface water monitoring programs to assess and manage hydrogeological risks associated with mine operations, closure and rehabilitation. 

Tamie currently serves on Independent Tailings Review Boards and has chaired and participated in expert technical panels for operational and closed tailings storage facilities. Her work helps organisations navigate complex groundwater and closure challenges while supporting sustainable and defensible closure outcomes.

Paul has over 30 years of experience in mine closure, remediation, regeneration and post-mining land use planning. He leads ERM's work on closure and regeneration initiatives globally, helping clients develop closure strategies that support both environmental outcomes and community value creation. He has worked extensively across mining regions, industrial facilities and metals processing sites, and is a strong advocate for just transition approaches that engage local communities and create sustainable post-closure futures.

Dana has more than 17 years of experience as an environmental consultant, including providing technical hydrogeological advice and supporting environmental assessments at mining sites across Australia (including bauxite, coal, mineral sands, uranium, manganese, base metals and iron ore mines).  

Dana’s core technical areas of expertise include site and hydrogeological assessments, conceptual site model development, fate and transport of contaminants in groundwater, geochemical modelling and groundwater remediation, including both physical and chemical hydrogeology. Dana provides technical review and supports compliance assessments, including third-party reviews and environmental audits. She applies her technical and regulatory knowledge to provide problem-specific reporting services and higher-level strategic advice related to the assessment and management of environmental issues and site contamination in the mining context.  

Dana is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (Site Contamination) and an Environmental Auditor (Contaminated Land) in Victoria.

Mertcan is a hydrogeologist and mine water specialist with over 19 years of international experience in hydrogeology, mine water management, and environmental geochemistry. His expertise combines physical hydrogeology with mining waste geochemistry, providing an integrated understanding of the interactions between groundwater systems, mining wastes, and long-term water-related risks. He has delivered projects across the full mining lifecycle, from prefeasibility and operations through to closure and post-closure. His experience includes hydrogeological characterization, 3D numerical groundwater flow modelling, mine dewatering studies, and acid rock drainage/metal leaching (ARD/ML) assessments. His multidisciplinary background enables him to support mine water management projects from a holistic perspective, considering both hydrogeological and geochemical controls. Mertcan has worked across diverse climatic and geological settings throughout Africa, South America, the Middle East, and Europe. He fulfils the requirements of a Qualified Person (QP) and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG).
