Fossil fuel-based trucking fleets consume a tremendous amount of energy and produce an enormous amount of carbon emissions. To reduce these emissions and their negative impact on the environment, EDF wanted to accelerate the transition from fossil fuel-based fleets to electric fleets.

Accelerating the transition to electric trucking fleets
For fleet leaders to electrify their medium-to-heavy-duty fleets, they have to understand a whole new world of trucking and utility. EDF wanted to be a key resource for fleet managers looking to electrify. But first we had to understand the typical journey to fleet electrification.
We conducted in-depth interviews and secondary research to understand the types of tools fleet leaders found most helpful at each stage in the process. We quickly saw that a white paper wouldn’t be enough. Fleet leaders needed an interactive website that could provide all the resources needed at each step in the process.

Using our journey mapping as a foundation, we created an interactive website — electricfleet.org — designed to be an unbiased, go-to resource for fleet managers looking to electrify their fleet.
The site guided users step-by-step through the process, offering tailored resources and support at each stage of their decision-making.

The website provided a step-by-step guide for fleet leaders to seamlessly and cost-effectively deploy medium and heavy-duty electric trucks at scale.

Transition to electric is officially accelerated!
Since its launch, nearly 10,000 users have visited electricfleet.org. Eighty-four (84%) of users have originated from organic and direct (non-paid) sources, and audiences have spent nearly four minutes on multiple pages each time they visit, leading to a healthy engagement rate of 54%.
