ERM’s Global Inclusion Week is held in May each year. In 2021, we explored the theme “It’s up to us,” allowing employees to explore the shared role we have as an organization and as individuals within it to drive impactful change across the business regarding diversity, equality, equity and inclusion (DE&I).

During Global Inclusion Week, we examined what each one of us can do to enable a more inclusive culture through shared accountability across all levels of the business. It’s up to us to make sure that every day we are being inclusive, thinking about how our actions impact our colleagues and whether our behaviors are driving diversity. ERM’s core values all have a direct link to how we can build an inclusive culture together; our focus on accountability during this year’s events helped us focus on the action we need to see.

Recognizing that our employees around the world are in different phases of working at home or in the office, we celebrated most of the week virtually, with some events happening in person where local conditions allowed. This included three global webinars, where we broke into small groups to discover and discuss the diversity that exists within ERM.

Finally, employees who might want to express their support for DE&I could sign the employee pledge. This is a voluntary and anonymous action we can take to express our support for taking action in the year ahead.

DE&I is so important to harness talent, drive innovation & create change. In ERM-Hong Kong, we held a “Food for Thought: FusINCLUSION” lunch over fusion cuisine to stimulate inclusive conversations."
