ERM has been an active member of the Campbell Institute since June 2017. The Campbell Institute at the National Safety Council is the Environmental, Health and Safety Center of Excellence.

The Campbell Institute brings together top-performing organizations from around the globe to share best practices and lessons learned among a broader audience. Over the past year, we have continued to support the Campbell Institute and its members in helping other organizations, across every industry and sector, improve their performance. Highlights from FY21 include:

  • Rate the Raters research by SustainAbility, an ERM Group company, has been highlighted in the Campbell Institute’s literature review Research Outlook: Sustainability Frameworks. Sustainability Frameworks noted several suggestions from our 2019 Rate the Raters report, such as improving comparability and consistency among rating systems, making the process of ESG disclosure less time consuming and more transparent, and tying ratings to sustainability thresholds and actionable measures.
  • ERM actively participates in Campbell Institute committees, workgroups and meetings. Rob Junnier, ERM Partner, serves on the Institute's Steering Committee and is the Chair of the Outreach Subcommittee.
  • ERM CEO Keryn James was selected as one of the 2021 CEOs Who "Get It" by the US National Safety Council for demonstrating not only a commitment, but also a passion for the protection of employees and other individuals impacted by ERM operations.
  • ERM Partner Mike Wallace, along with Malc Staves (Corporate Health & Safety Director for L'Oréal) presented "Business Continuity and Sustainability in Partnerships" during the 2021 Campbell Institute Symposium.

Through the Campbell Institute, we share our expertise in promoting active safety leadership by all employees, implementing effective programs and using metrics to track and improve performance."
