Inclusive culture advisory group

In 2017, we established a global Advisory Group on building an inclusive culture at ERM. The group brings current perspectives from across the business to our inclusive culture approach, ensuring its relevance to the broadest group possible. Advisory Group members are advocates for diversity and inclusion at a local and regional level, and they also help to deliver some of the important inclusion-related work in our inclusion strategy.

The Advisory Group is made up of 14 members from all parts of the world who serve a two-year term. Each year we replace half the membership to ensure we have a continual fresh perspective.

The Advisory Group helps to set the strategy for building an inclusive culture, as well as implementing many of the actions that come out of the strategy. Our overall ambition is to be a demographically diverse organization that is known for being an inclusive employer and for reflecting the communities in which we operate. The Advisory Group helps to shape and execute the way we achieve that ambition.

The group meets virtually each month and is chaired by ERM’s Global Inclusion Lead. The Group is sponsored by our Global Commercial Director, who provides the link between the group and ERM’s Executive Committee.

The group’s members are energetic, passionate and dedicated employees who commit to serving on the committee. They do not need to belong to any particular demographic – we need all voices who care about building our inclusive culture. Our members makes strategic contributions, as well as willingly roll up their sleeves to get this important work done.

I am especially proud to be a member of ERM’s global Inclusive Culture Advisory Group. As an openly gay man, it is very important that I am able to express my true self. We spend 8 hours a day in the workplace, so I need to feel safe and welcome being who I am. Building an inclusive culture ensures that our colleagues can be who they are without any fear of discrimination. The advisory group also promotes events and activities in ERM offices around the world to observe the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities, International Women’s Day, Disability Awareness Month, Pride and Global Inclusion Week. Inclusion really matters at ERM.
