127. Career progression and leadership

We want to make sure our employees have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills and work on projects that provide them with both stretch and fulfillment.

Our vision of Talent Management is to attract, identify, engage and develop, retain and effectively assign employees to exciting work. We want our employees to have the opportunity to develop and fulfill their career aspirations with ERM. Our online career progression tool makes it easy for all ERM employees to review available career paths, view job specifications and work with their supervisor and mentors to take a transparent and active role in assessing development to further their career aspirations.

Partner-led teams collaborate to deploy the right people for the right job. These teams have access to our entire ERM workforce, spanning different geographies and sectors in order to meet our evolving client needs. This structure also enables ERM employees to deepen their professional experience by supporting projects worldwide.

Our Path to Partnership approach focuses on our talent reviews to identify individuals who have a track record of strong performance and the potential to be successful Partners at ERM. Once identified, we assign them a sponsor from our Senior Partners to help them prepare and develop into the requirements of our Partner roles.

I’m a good example of how ERM encourages our professional growth and development. My career at ERM spans more than two decades and three continents. I joined the company with the opening of our Argentina office in 1998 and worked as a project manager. Three years later, I became the branch manager of our new Peruvian office, where I was promoted to Partner & Business Unit Managing Partner and grew the business unit to 70 FTEs. To broaden my experience, I moved to our Italy office for 6 years, where I led the impact assessment practice in Italy, France and Iberia. Since 2014, I have been working out of our Mexico City office, where I lead our Mexico oil and gas team and am one of the best sellers in ERM's Latin America and Caribbean Region.
