Sustainability reporting specialist

Fernanda Britto
São Paulo, Brazil

Based in our São Paulo office, I focus on sustainability, energy and climate change and am involved particularly with stakeholder engagement and sustainability reporting for ERM’s Brazilian clients.

It is my job to communicate effectively the benefits of public reporting and address any misperceptions around the process. I work with our clients to help them understand the purpose of reporting and how to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders through engagement. Confusion sometimes exists around the multiple frameworks, tools and methodologies that organizations can use for their public reports, specifically regarding the merits and differences between the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC). It is especially gratifying to be able to demonstrate to clients how these frameworks can guide their companies toward more integrated thinking and reporting on financial, environmental and social sustainability.

This year, I used my reporting expertise with clients to help support ERM’s own materiality assessment and participated in our external stakeholder engagement process for the Sustainability Report. It was very informative and inspiring to hear different perspectives on our own programs and performance.
