Chevron South Africa (Pty) Ltd has received a positive environmental authorisation from the Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP) for the Underground Pipeline Project, at the Chevron Refinery, Milnerton. A copy of the Authorisation can be downloaded by clicking the link below. The authorisation contains DEA&DP’s reasons for authorising the proposed activity as well as the conditions of authorisation. The authorisation was signed on 12 June 2012.
Chapter 7 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2010 (No. R. 543), in terms of Section 24(5) of the National Environmental Management Act, prescribes a right to appeal DEA&DP’s decision. As an interested and affected party, should you wish to appeal the decision, the procedures to be followed are outlined in the Environmental Authorisation, attached and available below.
