Expanding our risk capabilities in the Middle East to maximize business opportunities in the region
24 November 2009
Two key members of ERM's Risk Practice have relocated to the Middle East in order to establish a permanent presence in the region and better serve our clients’ needs.
Gareth Roberts and James Pickles have moved from the UK to set up a permanent base in Abu Dhabi. They will focus particularly on Risk Assessments and HSE Impact Assessments for oil, gas and petrochemicals clients.
Kevin Kinsella, Head of ERM Risk & Safety business in the UK said: "Over the past few years we have established a good team in the area but wanted to enhance our local delivery of Risk & Safety services to compliment our existing Environmental capabilities and provide an integrated HSE offering."
"We have a great track record of providing Risk & Safety services to clients in the region from our teams in the UK, Hong Kong and France but having a local team will enable us to provide our clients with a much more efficient and responsive service."
Both Gareth and James have first class technical skills in Quantitative Risk Assessment, HSE Case preparation and related safety studies required to further develop the practice in this region in addition to giving them the chance to develop professionally.
Graham Lane, Managing Partner of the Middle East OpCo, adds: “For the oil and gas sector in the Middle East, safety risk goes hand-in-hand with environmental needs and is often the first point of consideration. Being able to offer safety risk and environmental support seamlessly and comprehensively strengthens our regional market position and distinguishes us from other local consulting providers."
"We look forward to extending our new service offering to our existing client base that ranges from the national oil companies as well as the international players. We are also aware that there is considerable interest for risk services in our sectors including government.”
