ERM Webinar: Natural Occuring Radioactive Materials (NORM)
Managing NORM related issues - What's it about?
Tuesday, 14 July 2015
11:00 - 12:00 (CEST)
NORM is a common by-product of many extractive industries, ranging from mineral water abstraction through uranium, mineral sands or coal mining to the production of oil and natural gas. While the activity concentrations of NORM containing media are often very low, the radioactivity can get concentrated as a result of processing and exposure to the accessible environment. Managing the health and safety aspects and waste issues around NORM is therefore under growing scrutiny from operators, stakeholders and regulators alike.
During this webinar, ERM will guide attendees through the key regulatory requirements, options for the management of NORM wastes, our NORM workflow and other issues, and identify sustainable solutions to these challenges.
