ERM Webinar: Carbon Footprinting of Medical Devices
Thursday, 27 April 2017
15:00 - 16:00 (GMT)
Learn more about the types of carbon footprint information that healthcare providers are requesting from their suppliers and how you might go about gaining competitive advantage from calculating and reporting this information.
Healthcare providers are increasingly incorporating sustainability criteria into the choices they make for the products and services they purchase. Medical device and pharmaceutical suppliers have recently been requested for information relating to the carbon footprint of their products from NHS Scotland and the Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. Indeed, for NHS Scotland, carbon footprinting information has formed a key part of the tendering process of new contracts.
Join us for this free webinar, which will focus on the specific requirements of carbon footprinting medical devices, in accordance with the GHGP Product Standard, and provide anover view of the steps involved in calculating the carbon footprint of your products.
ERM’s team of carbon footprinting experts in its Product Sustainability Services team has calculated thousands of carbon footprints across a range of different product areas. Of relevance specifically to the healthcare industry, ERM authored the Greenhouse Gas Accounting Sector Guidance for Pharmaceutical Products and Medical Devices to accompany the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard (GHGP Product Standard).
ERM is also a founding member of the Coalition of Sustainable Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices (CSPM). The CSPM is a working group of pharmaceutical and medical device companies who, with NHS England, want to enable the transition to more sustainable healthcare products and services.
