Difficult Sites Webinar Series
ERM helps clients safely develop sustainable solutions to their contaminated land management challenges. This webinar series gives our clients a chance to interact directly with our technical experts about a multitude of specific topics that help achieve those sustainable solutions.
Update on Emerging Contaminants: A Two Part Series
The impact of emerging contaminants on liability planning can be very difficult to assess. Emerging contaminants are being increasingly regulated and can have significant impacts on corporate liabilities. In addition, a lack of clarity on cleanup standards and variations in regulatory requirements are creating challenges.
In this series, we will discuss what chemicals or potentially more stringent clean-ups standards may emerge from new and/or heightened scrutiny of this class of chemicals
Emerging Contaminants Part 1 - Update on Global Regulations, Guidance Documents and Perspectives
Wednesday, November 29, 2017
12:00 pm EST
The first webinar in the Update on Emerging Contaminants series will provide a summary of the changes in regulations and guidance documents in the US, Europe and Latin America that drive site investigation and remediation obligations on impacted sites. This webinar will discuss the following:
- Updates to Per-and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) guidance documents and regulations including a summary of the Interstate Regulatory Council (ITRC) PFAS team and September 2017 Australian PFAS National Environmental Management Plan
- What chemicals or potentially more stringent clean-up standards may emerge as new toxicity and exposure data are evaluated under the Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act (aka TSCA Reform)
- What are we seeing globally for emerging contaminants and what might that mean for different regions
Presented by Maureen Leahy, Nadine Weinberg, Paulo Santos and Alan Thomas, Moderator: Denice Nelson
Emerging Contaminants Part 2 - Effects of TSCA Reform: Mitigating Business Risk in a Changing Regulatory Environment
Wednesday, 13 December 2017
12:00 pm EST
The second webinar in the Update on Emerging Contaminants series will take a closer look at select chemicals coming under scrutiny due to US Based TSCA reform as well as chemicals identified for analysis by the fourth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR4). This webinar will provide a breakdown of the top ten contaminants identified under TSCA reform and a summary of the next 80 contaminants that may receive increase regulatory scrutiny in the future.
The webinar will include a discussion of the major potential environmental liabilities associated with the primary emerging contaminants and provide a summary of the state of remediation technology for each group.
