ERM opened its Buenos Aires office in 1998 to satisfy the growing needs of the environmental market, aiming to build a technically strong local professional staff, with wide experience and capabilities in a sort of fields and environmental matters.

In the last 25 years, ERM has consolidated its presence in Argentina having historically established temporary offices in Neuquén, Santa Cruz and San Juan on a project basis. Most recently in early 2024, ERM Argentina established an office in Salta to provide support for the emerging mining market in Northwestern Argentinian region (NOA).

Our staff of over 60 professionals have wide experience and qualifications specializing in different fields and environmental matters. This includes: Engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, biologists, chemists, health and safety specialists, lawyers, sociologists, economists and environmental scientists.  ERM Argentina’s technically and socially diverse staff provides extensive technical excellence to address any challenges towards sustainability of our clients. We have participated on more than 3,000 projects for a vast settling of economic activities, including the hydrocarbons and energy sector, the pharmaceutical, petrochemical, manufacturing, automotive and mining industries, amongst others. In those opportunities, we succeeded by integrating ERM’s worldwide technical experts with local experience.

Also, Argentina has had a key role in establishing international standards for Environmental and Social Impact Assessments for offshore oil & gas activities in Argentina, as well as the application of the Equator Principles and other International Standards in relation to mining activities.  By bringing these internationally-recognized best practices, ERM Argentina have thoroughly contributed to board-level decision-making processes, strategically collaborating with our clients for the sustainable development of their business.
