United Company RUSAL (www.rusal.com) is the global leader in the aluminum industry, accounting for approximately 12% and 15% of global production of aluminum and alumina respectively. The company was founded in March 2007 through the merger of RUSAL, SUAL, and the alumina assets of Glencore. UC RUSAL sells its products in 70 countries worldwide and employs 100,000 people in 19 countries, across five continents.
ERM was appointed by UC RUSAL to execute Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Social due diligence, which was completed across the UC RUSAL portfolio including its bauxite mines, alumina refineries, aluminum smelters, foil mills and a cathode plant. ERM deployed staff across all regions to evaluate each asset and produce an associated EHS and Social risk profile.
