ERM is a dynamic, world-class company that keeps evolving. When I pitched a business case to them proposing we should provide environmental, health and safety (EHS) support to technology firms in Silicon Valley, and they offered me a job, I knew I’d found a company that I would be proud to work for.

That was 2010, and I’m still proud to be part of ERM. Since joining the company, I’ve travelled from North America to Australia – via Singapore, China and Taiwan – working with a number of major clients in the oil and gas, manufacturing and technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sectors.

I am still based in Silicon Valley, managing operations and business delivery at our San Jose office as well as being the health and safety lead for ERM’s TMT sector and contribute to business expansion and market visibility in both the region and sector.

Riding the entrepreneurial wave

The expertise that I gained while completing my Masters in Public Health has proved invaluable to my work at ERM. I’m currently focused on improving safety performance for datacenters and semi-conductor operations, delivering EHS management systems for customers in the sector and developing accelerated learning and web-based training.

I am privileged to work alongside talented consultants all over the world on these projects. There’s a real entrepreneurial energy that permeates throughout ERM. Everyone is focused on helping our clients to add value to their businesses. We listen to our clients and understand their goals around increasing performance. We adapt to their needs and deliver the outcomes that matter – and we pull it off on a global scale. There are no cookie-cutters here; every engagement is unique to every client.

A personal and professional journey

In the five years that I have worked at ERM, it’s been really rewarding to see our services and teams expand and evolve.

The telecommunications, media and technology sector is fast-moving and we work hard to keep one step ahead of our clients and their needs.

As we continue to contribute to clients’ EHS and sustainability outcomes, I get the satisfaction of working as a long-term trusted advisor, not a short-term supplier.

Being part of the ERM team has been a great journey both personally and professionally – and it’s not over yet. So, here’s to another five years of innovation and evolution.
