Mr. Margolis is a Senior Partner with ERM, the world’s largest pure play environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHSS) consultancy, with over 5,000 staff in 140 offices in 40 countries. He is one of ERM’s senior management consulting practitioners and a nationally recognized expert in EHSS governance and management systems. He is a member of Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management’s Youn Social Impact Scholar cohort.
Jimmy has helped dozens of companies develop and implement EHS, sustainability and corporate social responsibility strategies. He works with leaders across functional areas and organizational levels to identify sustainability business risks and opportunities, develop strategies to address those risk and opportunities based on a robust business case, and implement strategies from the corporate level down through plant-level operations.
Jimmy has assisted dozens of clients develop sustainability/ESG reports, improve ESG rater/ranker scores, conduct product lifecycle assessments, implement sustainability-related information technology solutions, develop more sustainable supply chains, define corporate metrics/goals, and develop and roll out corporate policies and standards.
Jimmy has led comprehensive enterprise-wide reviews of EHSS management effectiveness for over 20 major corporations. He has helped companies develop and implement improved corporate governance programs and plant-level EHSS management systems contributing to significant reductions in environmental impacts, safety incidents, and costs, while engaging and building trust with key external stakeholders. During the course of his career, he has visited hundreds of industrial sites and developed and led dozens of EHSS management training courses, seminars and workshops.
Prior to joining ERM, Mr. Margolis spent eleven years with Arthur D. Little and six years with Deloitte. He started his career as an engineer at an oil refinery and petrochemical plant.
