Rail Freight Group AGM and Annual Policy Meeting
15 September 2010
2010 is a challenging year for rail freight. The new Coalition Government is making sweeping changes across the board – spending cuts are looming, rail’s value for money is under scrutiny, reform of Network Rail is coming and the planning system is being shaken up with serious risks to rail freight schemes.
Against this back drop the RFG Annual General Meeting and Policy Meeting will be considering the impacts of these changes, and the way forward for successful rail freight growth. They will also be looking at developments in rail freight and rolling stock, and in the carbon agenda, which risks being forgotten by Government in the ‘dash for cash’.
Charles Allison, Partner in Charge of ERM’s climate change practice in the UK, will be speaking.
