ERM

GACT Workshop

21 January 2010

On October 16, 2009, EPA finalized its National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Chemical Manufacturing Area Sources.  This final rule applies to facilities that are area sources of HAP emissions.  Until now, minor sources of HAP emissions (i.e., area sources) escaped the stringent MACT emissions standards, such as the HON, MON, and pharmaceuticals MACT.  EPA’s new regulation is aimed explicitly at facilities that escaped MACT standard regulation solely due to size.  As with the major MACTs, the implementation process will be labor intensive and expensive for any chemical or pharmaceutical plant subject to this new rule.

ERM will be offering a free seminar to discuss this new regulation and how it affects you. Attendance at the workshop may apply towards continuing education credits for State of Texas registered Professional Engineers and Geologists.

A certificate will be sent to you following the workshop. Please check with your licensing agency for applicability.

This event is by invitation only. Please contact Joe Halberda for more information.
