ERM Safety Case Seminar: A New Regime for GOM Drilling?
26 August 2010
ERM is hosting a complimentary seminar (lunch included) on the topic of safety cases. A safety case regime might come to Gulf of Mexico deepwater drilling and this seminar will provide insider, expert knowledge about what safety cases are, what makes them work, and what makes them fail.
The U.S. Department of the Interior's May 2010 recommendations to improve deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico included instituting a safety case regime. The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) is developing U.S. Guidance on HSE Case Bridging Documents. And on or about September 27, 2010, an Interim Final Rule will be issued about safety and deepwater drilling in the GOM by the BOE (Bureau of Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement; formerly the Minerals Management Service).
