ERM

APTA 2010 Sustainability & Public Transportation Workshop

25 - 27 July 2010

ERM will be joining public transportation and sustainability professionals from across the country for this 6th annual American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Sustainability and Public Transportation Workshop.

Achieving greater sustainability has been a driver of innovation within organizations and communities, calling for the creation of new, often non-traditional, partnerships. Within organizations, having an effective sustainability program means a collaborative effort across departments and embedding sustainability from top to bottom and bottom to top. Within communities, it means creating links between public transportation, economic development agencies, local governments, housing, energy providers and many other actors to take a far more holistic approach to planning, development and rehabilitation.

This workshop will explore how APTA members are operationalizing sustainability and making sustainable procurement, design, construction, production, service, operations and maintenance the modus operandi. Learn how that is articulated in terms of the transit industry’s role in building livable communities and what kind of partnerships are being formed with what outcomes.

This workshop highlights cutting-edge energy efficient, economically sound, and socially responsible developments and practices and how you measure and manage them.

ERM is sponsoring a hospitality break during this year’s conference and several ERM employees will be in attendance.
