ERM established its first office in Mexico City in 1991, working for local and multinational industries across the region. Now, our office has more than 130 professionals.
ERM's Mexico team combines the responsiveness and local environmental knowledge of a medium-size firm with the resources of a large worldwide organization. Our Mexico operation has a strong presence and an excellent reputation in both the Mexican and international sustainability consulting community, as well as with the stakeholders.
ERM’s Mexican operations include a mix of different disciplines, including chemical, mechanical, environmental, and biochemical engineers, biologists, geologists, and lawyers, among others. Our professionals have an average of 10 years of experience, with some having as much as 32 years, most of whom have postgraduate studies. We provide a wide range of strategic and conventional services. We are unique in our capacity to develop sustainability strategies with the board members and senior management teams and to implement those strategies on the day-to-day operations at the facilities/sites.
Our strategic services include materiality assessment, digital transformation, reporting and disclosures, life cycle assessment, and resource footprint reduction (water, energy, waste, emissions), among many others. Our conventional services include site selection, environmental and social impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, permitting, environmental site assessment, investigation, and remediations. We also have extensive experience supporting our clients in the sustainable closure of their facilities.
We help companies to transform their safety culture to improve their performance. The aim of our services is to help our client to obtain more from their current investment in health and safety.
Additionally, we support the financial sector in developing its risk management systems and assessing the project’s environmental and social risk, helping them make investment decisions. We also support companies secure financial resources by aligning their projects to the equator principles, IFC performance standard, and other international standards.
We have established good working relationships with Mexico's federal and state environmental regulatory agencies.
