Climate change will affect every part of the globe during our lifetime. It is an area that ERM is not only responding with an ever expanding practice area we are responding on an operational level and extending the scope our not-for-profit organization, the ERM Foundation. The Low Carbon Initiative will reduce our carbon footprint and support low carbon businesses in the developing world through three activities:
Reduce ERM's carbon footprint: We are changing our operational procedures to mitigate our direct impact and examining ways of making our offices more carbon efficient.
Enterprise Fund: ERMers have already raised almost US$600k for the Fund which will provide loans to low carbon businesses in the developing world, who are otherwise unable to obtain funding.
Pro-bono Program: ERM (the company) has committed US$200k to offseting its carbon emissions by leveraging our staff's skills and time to work on low carbon projects.
