Environmental Impact Assessment
| |
As the world continues to forge ahead with developments in the fields of transport infrastructure, energy production, industrial, residential and recreational development, so the need for these projects to be planned, built and operated with the least disturbance to the local population and environmental, social and cultural resources grows. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is increasingly the accepted tool by which such impacts are addressed.
ERM has over 20 years experience of conducting EIA's. Our goal is to help clients to use EIA as a planning tool, and as an integral part of good operating practice. It is a process which can not only achieve environmental objectives, but bring considerable savings in capital and operating costs, and avoid significant delays.
Our world class technical capabilities in planning, monitoring and assessment, engineering, operational systems, risk and safety mean that we can deliver the right solution across the EIA process, from conceptual design through to implementation. We apply a variety of state of the art assessment tools, from GIS to noise software, air dispersion modelling and visualization techniques.
We also bring a thorough understanding of local regulatory systems and cultural sensitivities - where appropriate, we can integrate social and health impact assessments into the EIA process (ESIA, EHIA) - to ensure our solutions satisfy both regulators and stakeholders alike.
