Social Impact AssessmentERM’s Social Strategies group combines international experience on social issues with local knowledge and capabilities. We work with our global network of ERM offices and outside partners to provide both specialist expertise and a national perspective to Social Assessment projects.

ERM places a strong emphasis on involving an organisation’s own staff in social assessment. We believe that a participative process is crucial to embed the management of social issues within the organisation, and to ensure that project recommendations are adopted.

Our approach:
  • Identifies the social issues of concern to stakeholders
  • Builds a shared understanding of the key social issues within the business operation (and corporate HQ)
  • Identifies ways to improve management of social
  • Re-aligns existing priorities based on stakeholder concern
  • Shares learning on management of social performance
  • Generates information on social performance that can feed into internal and external reporting
  • Demonstrates commitment to social issue management.
