Assisting the accession process
ERM is helping regional governments address some of the most important legislative issues as they seek to join the European Union.
Currently this includes:
- Legal harmonisation on hazardous waste management
- Development of the Waste Management Master Plan for 2005-2012 for the City of Budapest
- Preparing a guidance document and register of regulatory requirements for Hungarian implementation of the Kyoto Protocol, commissioned by the Hungarian Ministry of Environment and Water Resources
Assisting investors in the region
ERM provides Mergers & Acquisition Services to help interested parties make sound investments into Central and Eastern Europe. Our M&A advisory service helps them to use environmental planning and management to ensure long-lasting financial and operational success post deal.
Recently we have:
- Completed Phase I and II due diligence site assessments for several international real estate developers
- Assisted a major manufacturer assess 3 medical equipment facilities in Hungary as part of an expansion programme into the country
- Performed a number of due diligence site assessments in the neighboring countries for multinational clients, specifically Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Slovenia.
Environmental Management and operational consulting for existing facilities
ERM is playing a leading role in helping facilities in Hungary design and implement Environmental Management Systems and meet legal requirements for their companies.
Recently we have:
- Assisted a manufacturing company in obtaining all necessary environmental permits for construction of a new facility (building construction, air emissions, wastewater discharge, site use) and helped evaluate wastewater treatment options and select a qualified contractor.
- Performed a number of environmental and health and safety compliance audits assisting multinational clients with ensuring that their local facilities conduct their business in accordance with all Hungarian regulations.
- Prepared a comprehensive environmental Legal Registry and tracking database for an international client.
