Making a Difference

Perhaps one of the most exciting things you will see at ERM is that we do walk the talk;  across all levels and corners of the globe, ERMers are committed to the environment and our local communities.  The ERM Foundation plays an important and growing role in life at ERM and brings our staff together to support environmental, social and sustainable development causes around the world.  ERMers are actively engaged in the Foundation volunteer activities, from coastal cleanups, environmental education, employee fundraising, grant application submission and review, to supporting the annually funded projects. 

Through our Low Carbon Enterprise Fund, we provide both pro-bono technical and financial support to climate-friendly small businesses in developing countries as a sustainable alternative to offsetting.  We have also created a global internal Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, comprised of ERMers from around the world, who are developing a formal sustainability strategy for ERM.

ERMers have already mounted initiatives to reduce our own impact on the environment and the communities in which we operate, including the use of hybrid company vehicles in some US offices, changes to modes of transport where possible and the activities of many ERM Foundation groups to reduce their respective office’s impacts. For example, in Australia the Green Team targets our internal operations by implementing measures that focus on sustainable transport, energy use, water consumption, recycling and paper use. 

While there will always be more we can do, we are making real progress in this area as a global company.  We recognize that this is important to us all. You will find a number of opportunities to get involved in making a difference, in a way that is most comfortable for you.
